Henfaes Isaf is surrounded by wonderful unspoilt countryside. It is situated in the Upper Dee Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. There is great walking and mountain biking from the front gate, as the cottage is on the Tegid Way. If you crave more excitement, then the popular tourist spots of Bala, Llangollen and Betws-y-Coed are within a short drive. Activities here include everything from water sports to underground cavern exploration. There is a great 11km trail run at Llyn Alwen, again a short drive away, with biking, kayaking and sailing available at the neighbouring Llyn Brenin.
Guests have also enjoyed day trips to Snowdon, Chester and the North Wales coast.
